We map the objective, the workflow and the data behind it — and find where an agent earns its keep.
About
Nerdcode is a South African software company that builds agentic AI for enterprises — and products of its own. We combine deep AI expertise with the software engineering discipline that makes it work in production.
01
Agentic AI is only useful when it runs — reliably, inside the systems people already use. We build for that from the first week.
02
Retrieval, fine-tuning and evaluation on your own material. It's what separates an accurate system from a confident one.
03
Explainable decisions, clear permissions, a human in the loop where it matters, and ethical guidelines we hold ourselves to.
Who we are
Nerdcode sits at the intersection of two disciplines: advanced AI — agentic workflows, retrieval, model tuning — and full-stack software engineering. An AI system needs data pipelines, integrations, interfaces and operations around it to earn its place in an enterprise, and we build all of it.
We work with organisations that want automation they can trust: explainable, governed and measured. We also build our own products, like Xava, which keeps us honest about what it takes to run software for real people.
We're based in South Africa and work with teams here and abroad.
How we work
A structured process built on agile delivery and sound engineering — with a proof of concept before any large commitment.
We map the objective, the workflow and the data behind it — and find where an agent earns its keep.
Architecture, guardrails and an integration plan, validated with a proof of concept.
Clean, structured and secured data for the system to retrieve from and learn from.
Agents, retrieval and integrations built into your stack, with tests and monitoring from day one.
Evaluated on real cases; tuned for accuracy, latency and cost.
Support, monitoring and iteration as the business — and the models — change.
What we're good at
Each one is a discipline in its own right. Most projects use two or three together.

A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether AI is the right tool for the problem — and what it would take to build.
